We are, in fact, the Champions of the Imagination. Throughout the Cosmos, certain beings have arisen to fulfill a most unexpected destiny: to use their resources in the name of Niceness, and to defend all who so require such defense against the forces of Nastiness! There was, of old, one who did all of the above with a vengeance: he who was called unto the Mortals Louis Thomas Hardin, but, by his own vision, chose to be called by the name of Moondog!
While your Dragonmaster is numbered amongst these Champions, clearly 'twould be folly were I not to introduce ye to me colleagues who have proven themselves worthy of being numbered amongst the said Champions of the Imagination. Besides myself, they are, in no particular order:
THOR THE BARBARIAN (Panayotis Konstantinos Venetis), on whose public-access drama/sketch comedy/adventure series I didst make mine name; I have remained his faithful Mage and Emissary even after he, his Queen, the lovely and charming Muninn, and their son Brandon, alias Tigerboy, have ventured off into the emerald vastness of the Shire of Hawley, Pennsylvania.
MASTER THOTH (Stephen Kaufman), he who healeth in divine soloperatic prayformance; there have been some who have attempted to decipher his bizarre language of the Realm of the Nular-in; he himself hath since join'd forces with his apprentice, Lila Angelique ... and their secrets are worth observing (peacefully, mind ye!).
PATRICK BARNES (THE ODDIST), he who, as the fluffy-tail'd Invincible Bunnyman, protects the Easter Bunny as his noble-hearted guardian, e'en as he fights an unending battle for Truth, Justice, and the Bunny Trail Way!
LORD CLISTO SEVERSWORD, Knight of the Holy Blade of York (John "Jake" Brunette), whose Tome of Adventure and Knowledge has been universally recognized as one of the most frequently visited websites for those seeking the wonder of the Renaissance Faire Community and its related arts and skills.
MERDWIN THE MEDIOCRE (Scott Payne), who, like myself, is a Mage and Member in Good Standing of the Forces of Niceness; further, as a humble Christian, he has shared most of his wisdom and occasional scatterbrainedness with a good many Mortals from ten to toothless. Indeed, he is, as he has been for over a decade, the living icon of our annual Fort Tryon Park Medieval Festival.
RYLEH THE WANDERER (George Laking), the veteran Hedgewizard who proudly displays his colors as a member of the fraternity of Mortalfolk known as "rednecks;" his many journeys to his favorite Faires, and his chronicles telling of same, are the stuff of Mage-legend.
RAYMOND IRVING, Chorley, Lancashire, England, former schoolteacher-turned Henry VIII impersonator; his many adventures within and beyond the hidden corridors of Samlesbury Castle and Hall are stuffed, if thou wouldst, with his epic perspective on his own life, all six of his wives, and all the rest of it. Be mindful of his conscience, though: One moment he won't hesitate to grumble at you; the next, he'll be quite the pussycat!
THE NAKED COWBOY (Robert John Burck), that Stetson-clad guitar-strumming silly person in the tighty-whities, whose theme song is practically everywhere! From his base in Times Square, the wenches babble insatibly, as he croons: "I'm the Naked Cowboy, comin' to a town near you......." and they love it! For a time, though, he did hire an Elvis impersonator to serve as his bodyguard; and I of course did not approve. ("Frankly," I wrote, "[said Elvis impersonator] scares me." Since then, ol' Naked has even dared to run for Mayor of New York City, only to wuss out completely. When I learned of thus, I wasted few words in telling him about learning how to follow through on things!)
