And our first bit of news from these revised Dark Chambers concerns a modest documentary on the wonder, mystique and utter power of America's Renaissance Faire Community. The film is called Faire: An American Renaissance, and it chronicles the history of California's Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire. Director Doug Jacobson takes us back to 1963, when a single local school project gave birth to a phenomenon that, in the intervening 20 years, has literally spread around the world! The film looks at how the Pleasure Faire's current cast, crew and personnel are struggling to remain relevant in an age dominated by the Internet, videogames, and various other subcultures. Renaissance musician/performer Regan contributes an original song to the soundtrack, "Disappearing City."
